NEXT TIME MIGHT BE YES (2022)

The main character holds herself back due to her fear of rejection and that is something I’ve been trying to overcome for myself. Especially for queer BIPOC folks, a lot of us are experiencing a delayed ‘coming of age’ experience where we’re becoming more comfortable with who we are and exploring our identities in our 20s or 30s rather than in our high school years, which was spent conforming to parental expectations. This short was meant to make sense of some of my feelings, and serve as a reminder that I need to push myself out of my comfort zone.
